I have one of the Nolans. Over time my shield got scratched, I was able to buy a replacement shield. Parts are available. Try that with the less popular brands.   Blackbelt Posted on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 - 10:46 am:        hay newfie, Snell Certification can only be given to a Full time Full face helmet, they will NOT certify a Flip-up, due to the fact that they might open apon crash. I got that stright from a company that does some testing on helmets a few years back, i personally like the Flip-ups... but really am a stickler on the Snell rating myself.
