Rode a GSXR1000 today and all I can say is Wow. That is a hell of a machine. Made it to second on a full power pull before I backed out.

Only 1 problem, to have any fun you are way above the posted limits.
Very light feeling in the corner, and very uncomfortable compared to the bolt. Hard to ride through the tighter(slower) corners, to much gear I think.

Wish the Bolt had 5 grand more, then again they would throw me under the jail.

In the end it was great to get back on mine. I feel like I can have much more streetable fun.

..and very uncomfortable..
you're probably talking about the feel & stability of the bike... pertaining to comfortability, my damn crotch gets damn uncomfortable on the bolt! has anyone figured how to solve this problem.. A buddy took a quick sit on it, and the first thing he pointed out was the lack of space in that area

"Just got rid of an 03 1000 that was all tuned up, and I'm glad shes gone... some one WOULD have died on that thing sooner or later!"

Funny!

I have just about finished repairing all the squid damage done by the previous owner of my cheap ebay '04 GSX-R1000. The only thing left is to put in the new clutch discs and steels that I have sitting on the counter in the kitchen and decide what to do about the last remaining rashed decals and paint on one of the lowers. (These things are SO cheap to fix with all the aftermarket stuff and all the low mileage wrecks out there.)

It's an incredibly good machine. I will admit that in a lot of ways, it's too "good" for the street though. It invites you to do things at speeds that really have no business outside of a race track. The power is just plain silly. You don't have to touch red-line to do 120 in second gear. Bone stock it's a low 10 second bike with a top speed of 185 or so.

I had mine out for about 4 hours on Saturday, and it's really a constant temptation to push the limits.

That never ending wave of power is addictive. I want to ride an 1125 this summer, and I'm hoping it gives me the same feeling.

Bill

ya'll speak so highly of this bike yet one would not get the hell out of my way today and I was going slower than the speed limit.

I'm confused,

Was the slow rider an official Suzuki accessory?

Or, was the bike just riding around by itself? (Slow or not, you have to admit that's pretty incredible.)

Otherwise, I would tend to blame the rider, not the bike.

hey bill, I know what you mean with the speed. me and my roommate here at Tech could do stand up wheelies in 2nd past 120... ABSOLUTLY INSANE! it took less than 12sec to hit its governed top speed of 186mph... WTF is up with that?!?!?!

I'm so glad its gone... do NOT miss it!
