my first streetbike was a 76 xs650, man i hated that bike. my father talked me into it( I think he knew there was no possible way to get into trouble on one of those). I was just talking about that bike the other night, man i beat the piss out of that thing, and it never let me forget it, lots of laughs.

I owned an XS 650 US custom years ago. It handled bloody awful. I'm sure I've told the story here before. I bought it with a holed piston which I sorted with a weld and some files. Ran great for years - even after I got rid.

Hey Rocket,

I know this might not be the right place but whats your take on Roof Helmets? I seen the R010 in Fast Bikes and I gotta have.

Thanks Ryan

How many of us Buellers had a 650 Yamaha,or a 350 Honda growing up?I know I did and they ran great and NEVER left me stranded, but they were built in the 70's.

Ryan yes they've got some really cool stuff. Very popular over hear and well rated too. I like the older camo fighter pilot one they did.

Having said that I like more my Airho Warrior - Italian made street fighter styled matt black finish and reputedly the lightest helmet on the market. Plastic and around £100 cheap.

Incidentally the British Research Foundation or some such named government funded organization ran a test on loads of helmets sometime last year. Surprisingly I thought most of the cheap plastic helmets fair really well against some really top and expensive composite lids.

I don't know how readily available Roof's are in your corner of the Orb but if you're stuck for one gimme a shout. A company specializing in motorcycle gear, SAS, reside in my town and helmets such as Roof Airho Schuberth Craft and many others are their thing. I know the prop and his right hand man.

CB450T I owned until September 2003 when I needed to move it to make room for the Convertible in my garage. At the time I had a 1971 CB450T and a 1975 CB500T and traded both for a really cool Raleigh Mountain Bike?!?
