Just put the bike up for the winter. It's very depressing. Feels like I left my dog behind (Storing her at my brothers), it really does. I guess I have to buy a bunch of mods so I have a reason to visit her.

Too soon. I figure I still got another month or more left on her. I'm ridin till I see salt on the roads. If people can snowmobile in sub zero temps ridin in mid 30s should be easy. Ya just gotta dress for it. Im still lovin it.

All signs and predictions point to a cold winter. It's a good thing fuels costs have come down.

I just reinstalled the BAW. I'm ready for it. Kinda like putting snow tires on your old car up North.

Gonna ride this morning for work, 48F light rain, roads wet, slight wind, fifty mile trip.

I just rode into work this morning. 27 degrees out. It'll be mid-november before I stop riding on a regular basis.

You cold weather riders, more power to ya. It's not for me, once I have to start layering my clothing it's over. Riding just isn't enjoyable if I'm cold and uncomfortable.

I live near XL1200r and I rode to work as well. Wasn't too bad, face got a bit chilly since the shield kept fogging up. I ride till we get the first snows/black ice, and then think about putting it away. Then Keep it charged on the tender all winter just in case we get a couple nice days : )

Cut down the grass, and onions, yesterday Glitch -- doesn't appear as though the rain will stop before Sunday ; ) I strongly suspect that we'll get one more round of hay too and then it'll get pretty chilly.

Riding in this weather isnt cold or uncomfortable if you get the right gear. I am very much still enjoying riding in these temps. If its not for you thats cool but I just needed to make my point.

As a follow up on the last post, riding to work today, directly in front of Atlanta Motor Speedway I was going about 45-50 mph. a explorer in front of me suddenly hit brakes. wet road, well long story short, my right side very sore xb unknown till I go to the impound yard. ALL GEAR ALL THE TIME!

You should be wearing something other than a T-shirt and flip flops anyway.

I just rode about 5 hours today, from about 55-35 degrees. All I needed to do was put a fleece jacket on under my SUMMER riding gear. I haven't even broken out the heated gear yet!

I put mine up for a couple of reasons. Cold and wet...I can deal with cold but not both at the same time!

AND here in Indiana it's Deer season and the hunters have the deer running all over. Last week I had to put the bike in a field to miss a whole mess of the beast that ran out from behind a barn just as I got to it. No damage, other than my shorts, but a warning that's it's time the drive the cage a while.

I'll still ride on and off until the snow flies and ice is on the road.

Some of us have the genetics that make cool weather more tolerable.... I mean as I was once told.... "your ancestors haven't been out of the tree's long have they..???" My year round sweater isn't fun in the summer and nobody likes the hairy guy at the pool but man in the winter the wife sure does love me in bed.... her quote " I don't need the electric blank anymore since I married you..."

that said.... cold riding and being cold isn't fun... but the right gear and it is great... 2 wheels all the way....

4 Pete Sake - Well said. I may not have a full coat, but I always say, "I did not loose my hair, it just migrated south!" The Wife calls me her heater too.

I am warm blooded. Funny considering I am from a tropical island. I prefer to ride in colder temperatures. When it is cold, I am comfortable in full gear. I do not have electric gear. I don't need it. Rode 300-400 miles last January in high-30's and rain. I do layer up though. That day I had five layers on top and bottom. Only problem was my new boots. They are suppose to be water proof but the breathable tongue let water in. Something I will need to replace. I have a Nomex bandanna that keeps my face warm even below freezing. To me riding in temperatures above 95°F is worse than riding in temperatures between 40-50°F. In hot temperatures I tend to gear down. Helmet, Mesh Jacket and Jeans is my normal summer riding gear. The rest of the year, I ride in full gear. I am more comfortable and able to ride longer without exhaustion kicking in. That said, I do not put my bike up for the winter.
