Been there too! We have a Bushmills special reserve single malt that is cask strength, hand bottled and labeled that we break out for special occasions. Good stuff!
The squiggly lines, or "zigzags" as they're known, are painted in areas where pedestrians are crossing, crosswalks, bus stops, etc. You're not allowed to park or stop to unload or set down passengers for any reason. Overtaking is strictly forbidden & Speeding in them can be upgraded to dangerous driving.
Roundabouts are great places for honing your cornering skills too.
Most decent sized towns in Europe have unofficial race circuits around a series of roundabouts, usually in a quiet industrial area.
The car in the youtube clip is an Austin Maxi, one of the first front wheel drive hatchbacks. I had a few of them, great workhorse, but handled like a cat on wet lino.
I might have to look into getting trained in Tech Support if I get to visit places like that.

Years ago I was playing around with some night photography and long exposure times. One scene I worked on kept having a problem with some weird light effect along the top of the film line. I thought it was color shifting or something wrong with the camera. Turned out it was the distant city lights across the Sound reflecting off the lens and onto the filter and back onto the film in an upside down image. Never used a filter on the lens at night after that episode.
I have 2 of those bottles. One with my name on the label.
