Except a VFR800 is underpowered and uber heavy.

They'll run triple digits tank after tank of gas and handle very well in the twisties. Are they world-beaters? Nope. Are they deadnuts reliable? Yep.

I've joined a couple of sportbike forums for my metro region and you wouldn't believe the douchebaginess of the "big 3" riders towards Buells. I would love NOTHING more than to shut them up with a 160hp I4 or V4 engine. It would undercut there whole argument against Buells.

A great rider on a decent bike will always beat a decent rider on a great bike. Let the squids bench race all they want--if you can school them on the track it'll shut them up right quick.

Mind you, I can't because I wouldn't consider myself great by any conceivable moto-metric. Hopefully you are more skilled than me. Somebody has to show those guys what-for.

In case you haven't been paying attention, with the exception of Yamaha and Kawasaki, EVERY bike on the MotoGP grid is a V-4.

I suspect the only reason Yamaha is competitive has to do more with their riders than the bike itself. Valentino Rossi could probably enter a Superbike competition astride a Suzuki Burgmann 650 and podium, but he's one of a kind.

Looking at my "25 years of Buell" (great book) The first Buell was a square 4 and had the most h.p. of any Buell. I'd be lying if I said I really knew the differance. But from you guys it's better torque from the vtwin and more h.p. from the inline. Really, I can't ride my bike any where near it's potential anyway. Someday...More paractice...See ya, goin ridin'
