O.K. - off Buell topic. Before I get started, I DO have an '02 S3T Atomic Blue - it's fuel injected though - no problemo (so far @ 3,300 miles)

On my 1992 Fatboy ... my front plug is burning pretty much white, indicating lean. The rear plug is black - not sooty black, but the entire insulator is black - the opposite of what I would expect in terms of temps at each cylinder...

How can front to rear with one carb be burning that differently? The bike runs very well (only about 7K miles - due to having too many bikes).

Rejetted several years ago - I put on a K&N hi-flow, plus a set of power core slip-on's. So all the flow dynamics should be in-line.

I put on a set of Accel copper core wires - they are not the suppression type - could that make any difference? I had them just sitting around - other wise I would have bought a set having suppression core. This is the only area where I envision anything not being what it should.

An suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Check manifold and carb gaskets/seals, sounds like its sucking air at one of these points

Real quick, lose the copper core, that is a point ignition plug wire and one maybe way bad especially in length. electronic ignition requires suppressor core wire.

O.K. - I'll replace the wires right away.

I'll check for leaks, but I (who am perfect) doubt if I messed up anything in the carb / sealing area - I'll report back.....
