Took a day off today to visit the folk at the local bike shop, (S&P in Marietta, Ohio) ....that incidentally had the Buell demo truck stop by. Had the good fortune of trying out the XT, 1125R, BLAST and a Lightning Long. What fun. Tooling home on my Uly just capped off a fine way to spend a mental health day. If my local roads were a bit better, the XT with an 06 seat might be the ticket. I noticed the 3k stammer still there on the XT and 12SS..no biggie, ride faster. The wider foot on the XT sidestand is quite nice. The 1125R? I'm sure I spent more time re-reading the speed (as I could hardly believe it) than it took to get there.

At the end of the day, of the twelve bikes that came on the truck, the demo-guy (most cordial and informative) rode out on the XT. The 11 mile loop give you enough time to get ...acquainted.

So for those of you in the area without plans tomorrow....

Hi Ken.

So that is how you are making up for the rain delay at MBV. Good to hear that you rode wide variety of the Buells.

1125r is something else. At MBV it was low speed and not very exciting, however I did get to feel the power from 20 to 50 in second gear in just less than the blink of an eye. I'm possibly to fat, feeble, and old to enjoy the sport bike seating, but what an awesome machine. I could not believe how sweet the engine sounds when riding it.

Perhaps toward the end of the month or so some of us from the local area might be interested in riding half way up your way, to meet for lunch. If you are interested let me know.

Hey Vern
"fat, feeble and old"...hey that's me. The ergos of the 1125 are an acquired taste ... it feels like a machine with A mission. The tranny is sweet, that slipper might take a bit getting used to tho. A young fellow who tooled up on a 12R (only the second Buell there) was quite fond of the 1125R... I suspect FFO (see above) does not apply to him! There was opportunity to string out a bit during our rides and that was nice. I'm headed south (to Tampa) during the week of the 19th and headed back at the end of that week....yeah lemme know where and when, I'd be great to catch up. I think some guys are doing the chicken run around then too....

Neil,

It was nice to ride with you again too. I wasn't the one setting the pace either. On that particular day in the fog and freezing my hands off(my gloves were damp) with my glasses fogged over, my balaclava twisted partly over one eye(couldn't stop to fix it), and mirrors mis-adjusted, I wasn't having a stellar moment. Through all of that though, I still finished ahead of you!
