I'm not somewhere where I can post pics...

Man... that's a long link.

Anyway, I recently read in a Brit-mag that this bike topped out at.... 135mph. I was kind of incensed that the builder insisted on calling his custom a Bonneville Racer. It apparently is nothing of the sort. One of the funniest things I read in the article was that salt was flying off the front tire and blasting back in the riders face.

Nice fab work... but much ado about nothing. Even an old Kiwi on an Indian could kick salt in this guys face.

135mph is also what that ridiculous Confederate Wraith topped out at a few years ago, btw.

That salt plays no favors and is merciless to the unprepared.

Granted the Confederate can't hold a candle to the stylings of the Goodwood (wonder if that name came from the model sitting on it?)and a Bonneville racer should do more than 135 but on the other hand IMHO that's not too bad. My X1, when totally stock wouldn't break 135. I don't even think I'd want to do 100mph seated in that position with the exhaust coming out my butt.

that bike was at the Bubs event last year. To say it was a work of art and technology is an understatement!

Work of art maybe... the thing isn't any faster than a stock XB and couldn't hold a candle to one in the corners.

I'd classify it as a nice custom... not a racer by any means.

Remember when Aaron's street ridden M2 went 150mph at Bonneville a few years ago? All that and the handling, too.

I can't believe I missed that bike! Must be the day I left my sun glasses at the hotel and got salt blind.

Barker,
You are correct!
There are XB9's in the 130 club. I saw a couple of them do it!
