Hi, I'm trying to send a email to the customer service folks. I'm considering buying a 2001 M2, but the current owner does not know if any recall or warranty work has been performed on the bike. So, I want to ask customer service, but, I don't know the address.
Thanks,
David (wannabe a Buell jockey)

Dave:

If you have the VIN# of the M2 - and have access to a cooperative, friendly and involved Buell dealer - the dealer can access the recall status of the bike you are considering.

As an alternative, and for the cost of a call to Buell Customer Service, you can get the same information over the phone from them at 414-343-8400. Again, you will need the VIN# in order for them to look up the recall records for the M2.

Hope this is of some help,

BEST BET: Contact your local dealer and have them make the inquiry. Any problem, let me know.

First the good news, I bought the M2L, its in Broomfield CO so I'm flying in Monday and riding it home (Portland,OR).
Thanks for the advice on contacting customer service.

Mikej,
Latus is 'sort of' doing Buells, I went to their shop 7/17/03 and they had one XB9R on display (the sales person did not know anything about it), a 1999 M2 with an ugly unpainted repair on the gas tank(priced at $7,999!) and a S1 (not sure of the yr or price) stuffed into the very back corner of the used bike area (sales knew less about them than the XB). I don't think I'll go there for service.
Also not impressed with Destination Harley, Tigard, OR. Sales started by trying to sell me a S3T ($12,999) then bad mouthed the M2 for using a 'hot rodded' sportster shaker engine. Not sure where I'll go for dealer service when it's required. I did get an email from a local M2 rider inviting me to a Brag meeting and ride.
Thanks again, I'm really excited about my purchase and look forward to riding my American made machine.
David

David:

I am just up the road from Broomfield. Give me a call if I can be of any help with the M2L pickup. I have an extra room, tools, workstand, etc. if you would like to check the bike over, reset the suspension or do any prep work for the trip back to the NW. I can be reached at 303-524-9659 or through castodon@hotmail.com
Congrats on the M2L!

Mgrider01

I have been on and off Buell's since 96 and I am currently riding a 2001 S3T.

I have all of my service work done at Coulumbia Motorcycle in Vancouver, WA. This shop so far has treated me well.

American Motorcycle Classics: I would aviod this shop. Tried to have some service work perfomed there and they woudn't do it. Kept telling me my bike was a 1998 and out of warrenty.

Latus Motors: Use to be a decent shop back in 1995 and some in 1996 but have gone down hill since.

Doyles: Was in thier shop to have my rear rocker box gasket replaced (on a road trip and started puking oil everywhere) under warrenty. Bike left the shop worse of then when it went in and was informed by the Sales manager that they were no longer going to be a Buell dealer.

Destination: Don't know much about this shop. I have heard mixed things, some good some bad.
