I saw the Nortorious thread, and I remembered an article I read awhile ago... It was actually about the Sturgis bike show, and the general trend/style of the bikes has gotten much more interesting; Chicara Art II:
Hulster 8 Valve:
"Cook Custom Choppers":
Epic:
ExperiMental:
No more gaudy use of chrome, no more huge rear tires, and a what looks like more purposeful seating positions... And most importantly some interesting ideas Although what look like bicycle tires on the first two look a bit scary... (Message edited by interex2050 on November 23, 2007) |

All but one of those look like they're riding on Schwinn beach cruiser tires... scary with a motor that heavy. Cool designs though, nice to look at. |

I really like. I think most here appreciate unique ideas and unorthodox executions. I think much of the revulsion is due to bikes built with extravagant use of that which is mechanically unnecessary. When I look at some of the OCC products, there is so much crap welded on for looks only that I throw up a little in my mouth. These bikes are beautiful works of art and mechanics that an engineer would be proud of, doing as much as you possibly can with as little as you can possibly do it with. |

reading russian chopper mags ? I need that subscription! "He imagined cutting his own lines in his (chopper)creation The motor is a 1942 WLA motor, running gear from a 1960 triumph,.. practically everything was removed, no detail was overlooked.... words cant fully describe his work" (sorry some of the text is cut) |

Anyone notice the "cook chopper" has a brake set up just like the ZTL? How cool! |

Dave Cook, Of Cook's Custom's I know very well. His bike's are fabricated from start to finish with very few parts not made by hand. |

Heres a fresh look also. My friend builds and sells these from brand new Street Bob's. He's built about 4 of them so far.

Change the pipes and there is other things that would have to be changed.Pipes are step header inside. and they have to clear certain parts of the bike and still make them perform while not being in the way of the rider. |

THUGS BUNNY 4 valve heads too. I'd prefer it with a more usable front tyre size and less width across the yokes. I suspect this is not the original look anyway. The bike looked older built than the more recent tyre width.

The bikes at the beginning of this thread look like they would have enough gas to go around the block almost twice. |

ExperiMental has a 2 cylinder Honda 250 industrial engine mounted in it. It turned about 118 mph at Bonneville last year, I could be wrong, it might have gone faster. I think it did better at the El Mirage dry lake event. Had some sort of trouble at Bonneville this past year, didn't run. It is an all out racing machine and it won the biker build off. |
