Sorry, yall call it stupid but I think those guys got balls. Now the street stunts I dont agree with, but in the lots and on the strip is cool. These guys are not stupid, or dumbasses, if you think so than call me a . And you are calling other on this board dumbasses as well. Really, grow up, name calling is for grade school kids. |

Regardless of what you call these guys, the majority of them were doing those stunts without any leathers (t-shirt, jeans or shorts) and quite a few of them without helmets as well. I don't care what level of professional you are. Doing stunts like these without protective gear, or in traffic where others can be harmed as well, is just plain stupid. Otherwise I agree w/ New12r - if you're properly geared, in the right arena and have no problem risking your bike, it takes cojones bigger than mine to attempt that kind of stuff. |

These guys are not stupid, or dumbasses Where did I say (all) these guys were stupid, or dumbasses? You have to admit some of their stunts were ill advised. Call me an AYGATT nazi, I'll call it a compliment. When someone stunts their bike they should still have the cajones to wear proper gear. That's the only idiotic thing I see there. That and stunting in FREAKIN TRAFFIC. So yeah they have balls, but SOME of them are putting innocent people needlessly in harm's way. Sam} |

I got your back New12...those guys and gals by the way many ladies stunt, have large brass cajones. My friends do it, I personally don't care to do it because past a wheelie has never been my cup of tea, I like to go FAST in corners. But it takes a tremendous amount of skill and courage to not only attempt and pull off those stunts, but to miss judge it and get off without a hospital trip. I admire those that do it, I went to Stunt Wars in florida and it was a sea of motorcycles there...so others do to. I think it is an art form and I hope it continues. I just wish those kids would wear a bit more gear, but you are free to acquire as much rash as you wish as far as I am concerned, free country. |

Read my post, I dont agree with the stunts in traffic, and I forgot to say without gear too. But really to call them dumbasses for trying to perfect a craft?? Doing these stunts without gear comes from arrogance, not just stupidity. Trust me I know! I wore my gear and have a broken neck right at this very moment. |

I have to admit, even though that isn't what I like to do, calling others stupid for doing stunts on motorcycles is not cool. I rode freestyle BMX and skateboarded for years, and I always had a problem with the Max X type shows that basicly said that we were stupid for doing the things that we enjoyed. I had more then my share of injuries doing the things that I like to do, one of which took me out of BMX (and the Marine Corps), but I would be pretty pissed if someone called me stupid for doing it. |

12r...Yeah the guys on the street are DUMBASSES!! Anyone that puts the public in danger by doing stupid S..t is a . I for one enjoy a nice long wheelie every now and then (no traffic and usually in the middle of nowhere)but to do that crap in traffic where anyone of our families could be is rediculous. On a contolled access area, fine no problem as I would probably join in. Maybe I should have explained it a little better for you that could'nt figure it out on your own By the way I could care less about who I call a ( I fit the category every now and then myself). Glad I could stir the pot a little. |

New12R, I must have misread your post, I completely missed the part about the street. My bad. I wasn't trying to bash all stunters out there, just the stupid (read: gearless, stunting in traffic) ones. I personally would like to have the balls to to half of the stunts I see others do. These guys, for example, have my respect. One of those guys is my next door neighbor's brother. Crazy? Yes. Talented? Oh yeah. Sam |

It's not so much the gear issue that gets me road rash is their choice and it doesnt mean you walk away intact just gives a better chance(You know first hand). Its the crap in the street in traffic that gets me. Have picked up too many body parts from these people and two helmets with heads still in them. Most of the carnage was innocent people either in their cars or just walking down the street. I agree they have balls but there is a time and place.... |

Time and place for sure, my last wheelie ended up in a ditch at 60mph and I fractured my C4. I was titled the wheelie king in our group for my mile + back tire sprints, and making it around turns, but now I have a kid on the way and need to settle down, sigh..............I already miss doing wheelies. Hammer, you coming to March Badness? I think we shall get along fine! And I can show ya a couple long straights before some of my favorite sections of Twisty!!! |

Sounds good, looking foward to it. Maybe you can give me some tips on those long back tire jaunts. Have no doubt about getting along, seems as though we have same ideas just different ways of getting point across. |

I'm simply amazed at how many of these guys get up and start waving and dancing to the crowd like "hey, wasn't THAT cool"? Hopefully some of the footage of bikes hitting vehicles and pedestrians in traffic made it to the authorities investigating the accidents. For some reason though, I'm betting with all the balls it took to do some of these stunts, a lot of them didn't have the balls to stick around and face the consequences (other than the road rash and useless bike). |

Street stunters are DUMBASSES!. Street stunters are DUMBASSES!. Street stunters are DUMBASSES!. I don't care if their balls are made out of titanium and are the size of coconuts -their brains are obviously insufficient to the task. Want to risk your bike or your life, fine, I couldn't care less. Do it on a closed course. When you do it on the street you put others at risk. Street stunters are DUMBASSES!. The guy who fell off his yellow bike while trying to stand on the seat was really 'brave.' I wonder what consolation that would have been to him when his uncontrolled vehicular weapon slammed into a pedestrian (or other biker.) I also suspect that more then a couple bikes in that video were 'borrowed.' To those on the closed course, hey more power to you, knock yourself out! But let me reiterate: Street stunters are DUMBASSES! |

I'm with MM120. Out here the Ruff Ryders outlaw stunting videos are big sellers. At the IMS - the outlaw "stunnaz" videos draw the big crowds of aisle-blocking fools. They setup rolling blockades on the freeways by having a half dozen or more bikes form line-abreast, blocking and slowing traffic down to about 50MPH while 2-4 bikes do their stunting on a "cleared" freeway in front of the blockage. There are a couple camera bikes taking video. After about 90 seconds - maybe 2 minutes max, they pull off at a half dozen different exits and run a dozen different ways to get away in the city. Some folks think it's cool and funny. The rest of us who try to ride sportbikes on the street are paying the price. Canyon racers of the knee-dragging/sliding variety are right up there with the DUMMASS street/traffic stunters in my list of folks deserving disrespect. Read about all the pending legislation against sportbikes across the country and then tell me that this outlaw urban stunting in traffic and crazy-fast canyon racing is still cool. |

Weel each time this comes up I have to share a story that I kinda feel good about and kinda feel bad about. About 3 years ago the SCU and I were driving down the Garden State Parkway to Point Pleasant. The roadway was filled with New Yorkers fleeing to the Jersey Shore for the weekend when zipping through traffic came two young "brave" studs on sportbikes wearing the requisite German freedom fighter helmets. I generally have a camera nearby and today was no exception. Just as the two of them lofted wheelies, and let me remind you we are in heavy traffic, one of them turned and looked at me, wheel toward the sky, just as I snapped a perfect shot. It wasn't much of a problem to pay the $5.00 to the DMV and find his insurance company to send the 11" x 17" glossy to. Like farting . . . it's a lot of fun, but it makes a difference where you do it. I'm paying, and so are most of you, a pro rata portion of the "brave" idiots insurance. |

So how many insurance claims did we just see? And we all wonder why our (sport bike) insurance rates are so high. Ya I did some stupid stuff on a bike, but it was in the dirt a corn field on a RM80. Not at a 100mph on the street with traffic around. |

People who ride without the proper gear are dummer than a bag of rocks. People who street stunt make the previous look like geniuses. I don't know where that puts the nuts that street stunt in tees and sneakers....swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool for sure. |

Personally, I don't care for stunting. As long as it is not on public roads I don't have a problem with it. If you stunt without gear...dumba$$ is a fairly accurate description. Problems begin when HP exceeds IQ points. |
