Wanted to see the You Tube. Couldn't find it. Between my brother and I we have been known to have some pretty fast street cars. Had a small block Vega in the early 90's that would run 9.20's through the mufflers. Scrap's (Richard Nallin) daily commuter is an supercharged '06 Mustang that with a stock clutch runs 11.30's. Makes just a tick under 600rwhp on the dyno. Pretty impressive out of a 4.6L motor that he drives to work every day. |

Is drag racing big in the UK? I was under the impression it was pretty much a US thing. Is the footage of the 7.8s run from a track over there, or does he ship the thing over to the states to compete? Fantastic "bit of kit" as you guys would say :-) |

What's really impressive about the Viper is how well the guy launches considering it has street tires. You can see it really starts to get legs when he shifts into 3rd and the the boost stays on longer probably. I bet the top speed on that thing is pretty impressive. The 7.18 'Stang is awesome - great wheelie! |

I think the characterization of "street legal" is a bit of a stretch. |

What more proof do you need Blake? The car has an MOT (Ministry of Transport) certificate, which means it's passed ALL the necessary road legal requirements set down by the government agency VOSA (Vehicle & Operators Services Agency). The dude is driving it down the bloody street to pick his kid up from school. No matter what, that car is running street legal, and if you listen to the owner he states clearly that he intentionally built the car to be smooth on the road and easy to drive. As for the wheelying Mustang (way cool Brine, but butt ugly, lol) I don't see any tag plates so is that about a 1/2 a second faster street legal or is it a dragster? Is this an anti-Brit thing ??? I like Brit. He's a fine anchor for Fox News. I say "Go Brit!" Out here in East Texas one can get tags put on just about anything as they don't often check pollution emissions and never noise emissions. Don't make it legal in the strictly honest sense of the idea though. I know my Buell certainly ain't strictly street legal. That was my point is all. Of course I'm not at all familiar with what the pollution and noise emissions standards are where that monster muscle car resides, so I could be entirely wrong. |

The tags are on the rear of the car. Here in the US some states (i.e. Louisiana) don't require you to have plates on both ends of the car. Brine - You actually didn't. Loooonnng standing joke between me and Rocket. Seems he doesn't quite understand that Louisiana diction dictates that Brian is actually pronounced without somewhat less than satisfactory Queen's english. |

I haven't been pulled up at MOT for noise pollution, yet, but it can be a right royal pain for emission failure. Luckily this never really applies to Saab's since 1989 when they all went f.i over here. But if you want to talk about motorbikes................ Hiya Terry (we go back years). Duc needs an MOT. It's all good. Will go straight through............. Sean, what about those Termi's? Ah, you mean they're not street legal? It's not what, but who you know, thank the lord. Or Terry, lol. Rocket |

Darn, I though I was popular there for a moment... alas, I've seen it before and haven't mentioned anything, but know I know so I won't be curious. |
