Hey Court,

"Officially....208.546MPH

If you don't have a Bonneville Salt Flats timing slip, don't waste my time with bullshit."

Even if I did have a Bonnie timing slip, I wouldn't mess with you !!! ;)

Might have shut Troy up for the moment.
I gotta go ride. 230 pm and it is 50 and we have the day off. Going to pick up a new helmet I think.

Char

Sorry Char, shutting me up is relatively difficult. But I can CHOOSE to stop posting. I didn't come here to have people like whats-his-tattoo cluttering up my inbox with whatever brand of zealotry he happens to subscribe to, I came here looking for people who actually used a Buell as something other than a cooler way than a Harley to get themselves to the local biker bar. I found a few. Not a complete surprise, but definately a pleasant one.

Keith, I'm going to Laguna next month, I will have to pass on Oklahoma, Monterey is beckoning. But keep me in mind, after a summer of touring I will need to get back into shape somewhere, and Hallett is closer than Barber.

Court, at least you do more with a Buell than most. Too bad its all in a straight line. When you figure out what happens when you turn the handlebars, maybe I'll pay attention.

Who can say 208mph is a Busa with a turbo kit installed? Something squidlings in Florida are probably given for their 16th birthday in the hopes they never see their 17th. I have no doubt massaging a Buell into 208mph requires heroic efforts, but I would have to ask why would you want to? And does anyone actually care?

I've ridden Buells in 44 of the 48 contiguous states and was the first person to put a Buell on most this nations best twisties.

When you get to 30 states...call back.

Court, Buells in 44 states? Would you mind listing exactly how many Buells it took to acomplish such a task? I'm sure if the answer is more than 1 some of the Wingers I know will get a good giggle out of the answer.

And I would consider getting 30 tracks a much more interesting hobby than collecting states driven in.

Wanna argue about how many track miles are worth how many mindless interstate, straight up and down miles?

Married, interesting that I show up here looking exactly for a non talk talk talk Buell rider in Colorado that wants to go play, and you say I'M all talk?

Well, if the Front Range is too small, perhaps a Buell rider would like to show up Laguna, DP Safety School, May 26th, and we can play there? Should be at least ONE Buell rider in California that can show up, kick hell outta an import, and come back here and brag up his conquest?

Either way, I imagine whoever might show up, I can count both you and Rick out eh Married? Seems like the ones worth meeting come right out and say HELL YEAH LETS GO whereas the others just whine about they wish they could, but they can't, they have what? Chrome to polish? An engine rebuild to take care of? Practicing some cone dodging in the driveway perhaps?

All right Troy, I'm sick of your yapping. Heres the deal. We get in touch with Dave and we plan on going to one of the Mid America track days. I haven't been there, you haven't been there, its about mid way, so we are even. A typical CCS sprint race is 8 laps. We will go out at noon after a morning of practice. If I don't lap you on your SV650 on my Buell in 8 laps, I'll pay for your track day. If I lap you in 8 or less, you pay for my track day. You can even choose the Buell for me to ride - S1, X1 or XB. Put up or shut up. Whats a good date for you?

Troy,

I have attempted to be as nice as I could, but you have redefined narrow-mindedness. In our earlier exchanges I attempted to elude that just because YOU didn't like a particular sport related to motorcycling, that was OK as long as we agreed that there was more than just track riding. You have made it abundantly clear that if you don't get your way then we are wrong in what we do and love.

Well here is my opinion. You exhibit very immature traits that will limit your growth as a human being. If you were to stop and ask Court were he rode through those 44 states, I believe that you would find that less than 10% was accomplished on any interstate. Most of us that ride Buells find that riding back roads lets us see quite beautiful country side along with some extremely challenging twisties.

As for drag racing, I personally can't get real excited. For those that do power to them it does not mean that they are afraid to turn, it only means that they love that particular sport. I am one of those that land speed racing does appeal and I am a proud member of Team Elves who hold many records on the salt. If you would like a challenge try what I am going to in September. That is to take motorcycle with side car as fast as possible for 3 miles. If you feel this will be easy you have not ridden with a sidecar.

Do you have to like this form of motorcycle sport just because I do? NO, The same goes for me not having to like track riding. To each his own with mutual respect is what's in order. If you can't bring forth some of the mutual respect that we all deserve then just shut up please. If you can respect us for what we believe and think, then I feel that same respect will be given back to you.

Ray

Hey Wes,

Thanks for the laughs. I was kind enough to bring Troy into this nice little forum here. We have been debating for two years about bikes and such. I have to give Troy some credit though at least he came in here and said his piece and replied to everybody. I guess he can understand how it is for me in AMS. BTW, I am from Kenosha. Are you going to the Slimy Crud run? If so you are welcome to ride with us. A couple of Buells, a several Guzzis, some Ducs and a Triumph or two. You are welcome to join us as well Dyna. BWBer's Dale Baker and Shane T bolt ride with us to the Crud run.

Regards

Mike

troy ,good one ! yep , yep , blah ,blah ,blah, blopity blop. IM this ,IM that . oookkaayy . Now say something of value or something that could maybe reflect the mind of a Research engineer. Do you race in an organization ? or do you just only do the schools (safe and easy but still important). i aint never heard of ya! Makes me think of all the people who make a living racing motorcycles, none of them ever spout or brag or challenge or mock people who cant afford the more expensive bikes. Maybe that day will come its up to you and we will bet and you will bring cash and i will take your cash and your piece of shit yellow bike and donate it to M.M.I. in Orlando But when is the question because some of us really do this for a living maybe you could bring that little yellow bike down to daytona in oct? Troy you are thinking to much! you are not the man, i can tell by your photo you aint so hot ! by reading your post and looking at your picture your energy is somewhere else, not in racing that is for sure. Hard to imagine this web site being better than it is , but current buell registration as a pre req for admittance would be something to think about, it would save a lot of time dealing with mosquitos. just my 1 cent ,saving my other one for a rainy day.

Troll...no doubt being skilled on the track is something worthy of merit...but to you it's everything. Myself, I have just as much respect for anyone risking their ass riding daily on the street.

I happened to talk to a Pro AMA racer today...funny how level headed and down to earth that guy is in contrast to the track day hero.

If you arent doing anything this weekend tho the Hals Brag chapter is meeting at Hals on moorland at 11:00am on the 27th for a ride up to Corse superbikes. They sell Ducs, Aprilias, etc. Have a little bite to eat there & then just hit a few roads. Hope to hell the weather is nice...80 would be great:D

Mike,

good to know there are some other Bueller's in the area! Thanks for the offer.....we may take you up on it. We are tentatively supposed to meet some guys in Milwaukee but nothing for certain yet. Its been a lifelong goal of mine to meet Peter Egan and I have missed him at the other crud runs I've attended....Not missing this one.

The Troy thing....it is America and its his right to say what he wants. I'd prefer to settle this on a track however......LESS TALK MORE ROCK! LETS GO!!!!!!!!!

Dyna,

If your looking for something bike related to do after the Corse Cafe, its the spring CCS Road America weekend....not too much further down the road from Corse superbikes! Our first Supermotard race is that weekend too there (briggs and stratton go kart track near turn 8). I think its like $15 bucks to get in.

And here I thought you guys were hopeless. It only took what, the better part of a week to find someone interesting?

Let me see if I understand the rules, my stock sv650 against what? One of three Buells, all of which are stock? Racebikes? I assume you are willing to give away so much time only because you have no intention of running a regular Buell, but need something a little more "fortified" against a stock sv650? Or are we talking about your street ride against my street ride? Lets get the details now, I would hate to show up at a gunfight with my swiss army knife. But lapped in the length of sprint race..aaahhhhhh....ooohhhhhhh.....you most definately have my attention.

To Rick, I've talked to national class racers as well, they are nice people. Now crawl back under your rock and get out of the way, I didn't come here to find whiners, I apparently came here to find Weston, and since you ain't him feel free to return to the kiddie table.

Weston, would you prefer to work out any particulars here or in emails? At this point in time I would say I am interested. But the devil is in the details, it always is. For a preliminary thought on this, October sometime would be best. November the weather may be going downhill in Iowa, and in September I have quite alot of things happening at work. But October, excluding a few days before and after Columbus Day is pretty open.

Would you prefer a track closer to home? Neutral territory being best of course, but I'm willing to hit a track you are familiar with as long as I can schedule some time there between now and this fall.

Possible questions would concern the possibility of having open track without interference, or not, would you prefer to do a straight start and just go with the "if you get lapped you lose" scenario, or perhaps a timing scenario since this isn't going to be head to head anyway whereby your 8 laps would have to be faster than my 7 laps for you to win, rather than running a single burst in the afternoon, perhaps timing all laps after lunch and before closing time, adding up the best 8 for you, 7 for me, your time having to be faster, that way we could keep it going all afternoon rather than a single 15 minute event, etc etc. Let me know if you are interesting in discussing particulars here or in private.

Troy,

Bikes are race bikes legal to 2003 CCS heavyweight sportsman rules. 8 laps from a standing start through traffic. Mid America or any neutral track is fine with me. It be nice if it happened this year....If you join CCS we could do this at any of the Midwest rounds. Might as well keep this discussion here as you just need to give me a date and its the end of the discussion.
