I'm Trying to install a Buell race kit on my s3 and cant seem to find a position for the muffler that doesn't touch either the shock in the front, engine case in the center,or the primary drain plug. Everything is loose so I can move it around at this time. Could some one post a picture of the rear mount brackets so I can be sure I have them installed correctly. The picture in the instructions is quite hard to see. Thanks Neal.

I don't have a pic, but the race muffler on my M2 has a dent where the tranny drain would otherwise interfere with it. You may need to customize your muffler using a ball peen hammer. :D

I know that the fit on my S-2 was similar, there is little clearance in any direction, but I was able to get mine in ok.Is Muffler as far forward as it will go --or is it too far forward?Seems as I had to pull mine back some if memory serves me.Good Luck.Oh, obvious question--is it the correct muffler?

Everything seemed to be correct in the kit....I didn't think there were different "mufflers". Header has the O2 bung. Race mufflers were the same for M2 or S3/X1 were'nt they? This muffler already has the "dent" for the primary drain plug and its right where its supposed to be but VERY close to actually touching. I obviously HAVE to get it away from the shock...I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world if it touched the case or drain plug...it just shouldn't.
Thanks Neal

Something about a Buell screams for industrial ingenuity...

Josh and I installed a race muff on my S2 using a 2x4 and a hammer...

...and it's still in place with no outwardly apparent problems.
