I hate to admit it but I went out on a ride today. I usually avoid places like Ortega Hwy. on the weekends but the weather has been so bad I had to go play. To help moderate my pace I went with two of my non racer friends.

First stop: The lookout. This is where everyone rides to from Orange County as was evidenced by the sheer number of Ducatis and Moto-Guzzis. The high end bikes were all there. I checked out 14 different Ducatis, only one had no chicken strips on the edges of the back tire. WTF? Some of those boys don't know their toys! Talking to one of the guys and he sold his Buell XB9r and bought a Duck. He said the XB did not have enough in the low end to pull hard enough out of a turn. Checked out his bike........ CHICKENSTRIPS!! WTF? Some boys don't know their toys!

There were several cops up there but they left around 1:00 so I got to play a little bit. Did not once get passed, but did pass a couple of dozen different high end race bikes on my little under powered Buell and never saw the edges of my front tire. WTF? Some boys dont their toys!

I just love my little underpowerd Buell. She was a unique lady today, in fact the only one I saw. Someone was hangin out at Hells Kitchen today with a nice Orange and Purple tuber though.

Great ride it was interesting to watch the various shows. Usually I only ride the mountains on the weekdays and have run into more than a couple of really fast guys. If I could only ride weekends I would be so bummed........................
