Well the battery "box" (tray) on a Blast is welded into the frame.
A S1 will run a Sportster Battery which is the same that is in the Blast.
Do you need a part number for the S1 Battery tray to update from the old small battery?

WELLLLLL I have the part number for stock
P# 65948-00
retails for 65.95

If you go to any UJM shop they should have (depending on what kinda battery you want Yasu or the like) a large catalouge to choose and cross refrence from. If you tell me what kind you want I might be able to get you a part Number or battery number.

I have a 1998 S1WL and purchased my new battery at Wal-Mart. You will have to extend the attaching end of the retaining strap approx 1/2 inch, and make a 3/8 inch specer to sit into the stock battery base. and it will fit into the stock location with the stock cables. They are a fully sealed battery, they work great and they are cheep and you can get them at any Wal-Mart.

I got the Buell Blast battery conversion. It's a little expensive, but I now have a shelf for my disk lock and can buy the el cheapo batteries next time.

My battery was replaced under warranty at the time I picked up my bike. After sitting on the dealership floor for 3 years the original battery was not all that reliable so they replaced under warranty.

There was a replacment kit that went in as the original battery was like it was in on its side with terminals on the front of it.
