Hello everyone. Brand new to your site. I would like to thank everyone for sharing their knowledge . So thanks! MY question is, I have a brand new 04 Xb12S, and I would like to hear opoins on what kind of engine performance mods I should be considering first. I would like to start with the cheapest and move up. What are some of the best mods for the money?

Track school. : )

Buell race kit or a slip on muffler and a race ECM. Then a PCIII or techlusion EFI augmentation module coupled with competent dyno tuning.

Then a 1250cc top end kit along with some expert head porting.

Then some .... more money... : )

Check out our performance oriented sponsors. Give the folks at Cycle-Rama and/or Revolution Performance a call. They are the experts.

Consider having your suspension setup by an expert.

And welcome to Badweb!

Get a full system like the Force or Ti-Force.

Later you can slap in some hotter cams and forged high compression pistons.

Head porting would definitely be worth if you go that far.

Blake nailed it -- the rider is likely the limiting factor on ANY bike -- address that first, and by the time you're capable of out riding the available performance, you'll likely know lots more about the needed mods

I'd pick up a Drummer pipe first and then do track days. It's not that I think that the power gained by going that route first will gain you anything in lap times or just being faster in general, but they sound VERY good and really enhance the characteristics of the Buell engine.

After that... A PCIII and dyno tune (as Blake stated). Once that's done... start saving money : ).
