looking for someone who won't be at Laguna next weekened to burn a disc of SPEED TV's coverage of MotoGP (and anything else they may show from Laguna).

i'm willing to pay a nominal fee to cover your expenses, or perhaps trade a couple of my early Battle 2win's, or perhaps snag you some souvenirs from the race.

this wouldn't be a "for profit" deal so i don't think we'd run afoul of copyright issues. i'm just looking for one copy for my personal moto-DVD library.

i want the ENTIRE telecast, beginning to end, commercials and all, done in "professional" quality. anybody game?

ping me offline via PM in profile.

ride to lean,
Ferris

Jerry,
Why don't you register and buy the package at MotoGP.com and you'll get more coverage than Speed will ever give, including live qualifying and all the races. Worth the money in my opinion.

Coyote - He'll be there... I think Jerry needs someone to make sure he has a good quality "hard copy" once he gets home (so he can watch that crazy guy do a parade lap all dressed up in red white and blue on TV : ))...

It looks like you can get full GP coverage including live coverage for every race and practice through MotoGrandPrix.com for ~$41 USD. I have no idea how good the quality of the video is and I don't know if you can actually download the content (I suspect not).

The video they offer for free seems like it's decent quality but small. It seems that their "live" bandwidth requirements would indicate that the video and/or audio (note the "or" ) quality is pretty good. It also indicates that you can watch the races and qualifying after the fact as many times as you'd like. I still don't think you could download it and burn it to DVD though (legally... I'm fairly certain that there would be hacks/cracks/etc that would allow it).

I would imagine it would only be really worth it if you meet the the requirements for their high quality stuff at the least. My connection is about eight times as fast as what they require : ).

too many complexities for me, i can barely hang a post here on BADWEB. : )

i'd MUCH rather trade someone a brand-new MotoGP t-shirt from Laguna for a disc of SPEED's coverage.

Bueller? Bueller?

Come on! Get with the program amigo! D... V... R...

Set the DVR to record the race and to be safe the hour or two afterwards.

Blake, i don't have one, can't afford one (right now), don't want to mess with one (right now).

for the mere price of a Laguna Seca MotoGP t-shirt i have made a new friend (a BADWEB'er i've not had the pleasure of speaking with before), i get a DVD of the race, and my new friend gets a cool souvenir from MotoGP even tho he will be clear on the other side of the country when the race takes place.

win-win-win. : )

I'm lucky, for a mere $5/mo Kilgore Cable TV provides a nice dual tuner DVR. It has a USB port on the front panel, but it came with ZERO documentation. Not sure if I can pull files from it or not.

Nope, you can't Blake, you have to use a seperate SATA harddrive off the port in the back, then take that drive and use an external SATA/USB case to get the files onto the computer. I have tried since we now have 2 in the house thanks to Cox cable and a sweet deal of an extra $7.50 a month.

So I can upgrade the disk capacity of the thing by plugging in another SATA HDD to the port on the back panel? Cool!

What if anything can I do via the USB port in front?

AFAIK its for upgrading firmware or to use a USB keyboard.
