Was wonder from those who have the right side air scoop how they painted it. Did you use and sand paper to rough up the surface a bit? I got some engine paint that says it can handle 1600F because this thing is near the engine and headers.

I did lightly sand the scoop to rough it up. I used Plasticoat paint which worked very well. I did not prime the scoop.

No issue at all from the heat from the headers. I think engine paint is overkill.

Probably is, but it should be durable. Used it before on a water pipe on my old FZR and it held like nothing else.
