Is there such an item as a ECM that was made for bikes that raced in the "Race of Champions". Somebody is selling the ECM. Its described as having more power than "Race ECM". And has number that do not match either stock or race part number. ???? |

No, that is an inaccurate statement. They were "off the shelf" Buell Race ECMs. |

Wouldn't a race ECM be labled for race use only? Also wouldn't the part number cross check. ? I know that back in 1999 Buell techs would come to dealerships and remap the ECU. So it would seam "possible" that Buell would want the bike ECM to the set up perfect for racing... |

I know Rich Cronwrath had a guy that made a special remaping he could do to a stock ECM. Had to do with idle going up with the temp sensor or something like that to reduce rear wheel drag at the end of the straightaway. Probably mapped for more power too. Don't know who it is that's selling, but it CAN be done by REAL smart teckno guys. I wouldn't want something that far out on a street bike. |

Are those the ecms that made otherwise good X1s jump off stages? |

Who was that, Rich King? Gad Zooks he had to feel dumb. I'd forgotten about that race of champions. That's what they call the fall Daytona Formula USA races. |
