The organisers of the Isle of Man TT Races, the Manx Motor Cycle Club Limited, regret to announce that a competitor was fatally injured in an incident during today’s Senior TT. A race marshal also died in the same incident.

It happened on the second lap of the race at Kirk Michael. The rider who died was newcomer Gus (Ian) Scott from Kendal in Cumbria, a motor cycle journalist and road tester who had been entered in every solo event this week Mr. Scott (40) was a single man with a ten year old daughter.

The marshal who died was named as Mrs April Bolster from Kirk Michael. The Coroner of Inquests has been informed and investigations are continuing into the circumstances.

That is very sad. The whole family did martialling at the TT.

There are almost always deaths of racers at the TT, this year I think it is 3, but to lose a volunteer is a real shocker.
