I modified the wiring going back to the tail light and turnsignals so that I could quick disconnect them. There was this "bundle" of ground wires that eliminated and now I cannot get my turn signals to function. Was it some kind of relay or filter? I have running and Brake lights, just no turn signals. Thanks in advance, Koz5150 |

Koz -- you eliminated some ground wires? if memory serves (on my Y2K), there's one thicker ground wire and one thinner -- don't have the schematic with me, but both should be there . . . . I'm thinkin you may have intrduced an extra ground into the circuit (I've done the same) carelessly, or you may have no ground at all for the sigs -- try em with a separate ground wire from teh sig to the negative battery terminal -- that'll get ya going |

I tried that and no dice... There is a wierd bundle thingy that all the grounds meet in. It must be important. On the lighter side, I rode my bike for the first time this year. Left a 20ft burnout in the parking lot at the shop! |

hmmmmm -- no filters or relays or nuthin in the circuit, I'm pretty sure -- if the clean ground path don't do it, you're not getting power (simplistic, I know, but that's me!) I'm afriad you're stuck with tracing the paths |

;-} yeah, electricals are fun, yes? try putting it back the way you found it, and then make small, one wire at a time, changes -- slow, boring, but good chance of success! |

Turns out when wiring in the new 6 plug connector a few wires that shouldn't touch did and fried the flasher unit. I bought one at the auto store for $13.00 and added a load balancer to get the blinking to slow down. Works great now. |
