My front caliper was leaking fluid. I tore it down and it looks like the pistons are plated and the plating is peeling off. Does anyone know where to get replacement caliper pistons for the PM Caliper?

You’ll need to get them made. They only used that caliper for two years and I found the last couple new kits laying in a warehouse a few years ago and bought them.

I tried PM when I worked at SPHD and they only could match up one of the three sizes.

What about deplate and replate? There is process to remove chrome plating without hurting the alum but dont know the details. Our city chrome shop was going to do a big 2 foot piece for me for around $50.

Thanks for the fast reply. I will start looking for a machine shop to make them.

I did think about trying to remove the plating but not sure how to do that. I will try to have them built. Thanks

the seal is what keeps them from leaking not the piston itself. can' you just polish them up and put in new seals? no need for a machine shop...

I don't think I could clean the old pistons up. The plating was flaking off. I bought a new set from BarnBuell. Easy transaction, fast shipping. I haven't had time to install them yet.
