I've got a question about replacing the oil lines. Many are plugged into standard barbed connectors and are crimped in place, while others have a special connector(see below). The first type are obvious, but the other type of connection isn't something I'm familiar with. Can I easily replace the second type of hose or is it a huge pain?

I'm proactively doing the bronze oil drive gear (ordered all the parts from Lance today). Planning to clean up in general and, ideally, replace all oil lines.

They are standard npt fittings and house is available at any auto store.

The hose in the OP's pic is the factory unit from pump to the filter.

It is NLA from Harley ..go figure.. it is only on a million sportsters..

So if I just get a brass NPT -> 3/8" barb, I should be fine? Does anyone know the diameter of the threaded side, off-hand?

I'll probably just stick with the basic tubing, since it's easiest to deal with.
