The cast aluminum boomerang X1 shifter should fit the S1. You will need the longer spool piece between the shifter and the shifter arm on the transmission.

Yes they are interchangeable. You can also use a firebolt shifter with a longer bolt

Do you mean the XB9/12R firebolt shifter can be made to fit an S1? or were the tubers with fairings also referred to as firebolts?

Good to know, my shifter will work for now with the new toe peg and a new bushing, but it's definitely on the short list of things to be replaced. It looks like it's been through a tip over or two and will get a little love with a vice and a hammer when I get some time.

Were the XBR shifters longer than the XBS shifters? I know they had different pegs, but I wasn't sure if the shifters were all the same.

All the xb-s and xb-r shifters are the same.
But about the fitment on a tuber ,im not so sure.
Only the connecting piece on the shift shaft can be used without reworking.

I liked the idea of the XB shifter so I just went out to the garage and checked it out with an extra I had. I can't see how it can work without fabbing some kind of bracket for the shifter to pivot on. Unless there's something I'm not seeing.
