Just a dumb question why would you want to put an older front end on the X1 is a better front end is it not?

'97s are WP forks, which are better than Showas.

IMHO if "i" was going to change front end(forks), it would be to put a METRIC BIKE FRONT END on ...

You then would get DUAL BRAKE ROTATORS and more TUNE ABLE FORKS(more high tech.) !!!

My WP ROMA forks are fully adjustable : ). They are stock on my '96 S2, but they are the best forks eve rput on a tuber stock. The '96-'98 WPs on the S1/S3 didn't have as many adjustments. I do plan on doing a fork conversion later though; '05 MV Agusta Marzocchi 58mm forks and trees with dual Nissin 6 pots with Ducati 999 wheel : D.
