Team ASBN -

We had a good planning meeting at my house in January. We ate well and hung out, then settled in the great room where we brainstormed, shared our thoughts and brainstormed some more. We realize that our numbers are down and that our meetings do not justify getting guest speakers and such on a regular basis. We also do not have the fuel to keep this format up. It becomes work rather than recreation. So we decided we needed to revert a bit back to the more simple itinerary of fascination with our bikes, some necessary business of course, and more destination rides and smaller after work jaunts for coffee, etc. Then once a quarter, we will break off a destination ride/meeting. Curt had some great ideas here. These destinations will be posted in a separate announcement coming in the next few days. Additionally, the parking lot will once again loom as a center piece of the meetings.

We also determined that we will remain a Buell enthusiast group. The strongest statements to that end came from some of the guys who do not currently own Buells. Everything else is of interest, but we are not dumping Buell to become a well rounded generic club.

I had a blast in ASBN back in the day when Woz, Rex and Jack held court. It was personable, simple and FUN. Let’s get there again.

Lastly, we will be begin meeting at Don Jose’s in Castro Valley this February 3rd and thereafter as well. Meeting starts at 6:30 as usual. We will have our own room, but we will not have our own music. We will be meeting here for the foreseeable future.

The address is:

Don Jose’s Mexican Restaurant (they serve burgers too)
3430 Village Drive
Castro Valley, CA

Be there or be square!

I am in the North Bay and making trips to the meetings during the work week does not work for me.

However, very interested in weekend rides depending on location.

Yeah 6:00 pm Monday, man the traffic that prevents me from coming. I'm on I80 like Pinole area.
How about if we could devise a meeting place that doesn't require going on the freeway, perhaps reachable by more interesting roads?
Is this even possible in the Bay Area?

I echo the sentiments of others here. I live in the Boulder Creek area (love my commute even more on my S3T) and work in the south bay. Getting to the meetings has been impossible for me, but I would like to meet some of you crusty folks. The tour of Zero let me meet a few of you. If I can make it to Castro Valley I will.

folks, we all live in the greater Bay Area

NONE of us lives at Ground Zero, yet folks've regularly traveled from Novato, Modesto, Tracy, etc. to ASBN meetings

I lived in SJ from 99-05 & didn't find the trip onerous on 2 wheels - in fact, it was a super excuse to leave a little earlier & ride around Calaveras Reservoir.....
