So I've managed to make a little progress on the X1. Fuel pump is now in, and the bike will turn over.

Also, I got ECMspy, and have pulled my current maps/eeprom (is there a difference?) and backed them up. Also reset the TPS last night.

Now, here's where I stand:

-Key on, CEL goes red for a moment, fuel pump primes. ***I'm not getting the yellow fuel light upon turning the key to "on" however...

-Ignition pushed, bike turns over.

-Fires, and you can tell it wants to keep going

-Then it shuts off.

SO! I've done a crapload of reading on here, and narrowed down the issue to a few things, and here's where I'm seeking advice...what to tackle first:

-Fuel Pump Regulator...I could be losing fuel pressure and that could be the cause. I question whether this is the case or not, but am considering buying a new regulator just to rule it out. At ~25USD, it's not that expensive to take it out of the equation.

-Cam Position Sensor. I'm not sure how this works, but I read that an electrical burning smell is a sign of this going bad. I THINK that I may have smelled that at one point, but not sure. Again, not a terribly expensive part to replace, but I do have a few questions about it.

-Bank Angle Sensor. I am thinking that this is the most likely culprit. Since it tries to turn over, and then stops, possibly the sensor has gone awry?

Now, here's a little more info. Pulled the "trouble codes" with ECMSpy last night. There are currently no codes. It did show some "historic" codes (see picture below, I couldn't export them to a doc) but one of them was the BAS, amongst others. I cleared the codes successfully, so now it it not throwing any, but should I be concerned about the prior trouble codes?

I feel as if I'm somewhat close to the end. Thank heavens for this place. I've done a ton of reading recently, and it's been most helpful!!

Hayes,

If you have spark and fuel your CP sensor is likley good,

ECM spy will allow you to test this,
Same with the injectors, and coils
Newer versions of spy are said to allow you to turn the BAS off,

If you can get a fuel pressure tester this connects to the fuel pumps external pressure connection and determine if the pump is operating correctly.

I re-programmed an ecm last year for another board member which had a flaw in the prom code some where, bike would start and run but shut down, in several years that is the only one I know of I have never tried to bypass the BAS
