It looks as though this hasn't been covered in a while and I was curious if anyone has had recent experience in getting Caribbean Candy Blue sprayed successfully.

Last I knew, there were some questions regarding the paint codes and process used to duplicate the factory effort.

This past weekend, a girl backed into my bike in a parking lot and knocked it over. Fairing, front fender, tail-section all were damaged so it looks like a complete repaint.

A few years ago I took parts to a paint shop with the paint codes and their rep provided "equivalent" paint codes. Don't remember if I got the codes as part of the deal or not but I can try to take a look. There is a silver metal flake base with blue over the top. The result had more metal flake than I expected. Actually I didn't expect any at all and was initially disappointed. I based my color choice on a single tail piece that I never had in the sun so it may have been there before, maybe not. An informal survey of owners with CB in the registry gave a range of the amount of metal flake in the bikes. Not really surprising, I guess. Take a look at your parts and discuss the end result you want with the shop. I believe they can modify the base to meet your personal taste. You might also look at similar blues that I believe I've seen on Toyota's, Ford's, and Honda bikes.
