Hey everyone, just ordered a ecm spy cable, I already have the software installed on my laptop. Bike is a 2000 X1 with a forcewinder, race ecm, V&H headers and custom made pipe. My question is. what are the first things I should do when i get my cable in this week? Bike has always ran well for me, just over 20,xxx mile mark. Any info appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Check your TPS setting, other than that, look but don't change anything. Like you said, it always ran well. The road to bad tuning is paved with good intentions.

There is always the race software. I am trying to get my cable to work in order to load it. With a free flowing intake and exhaust it seems like a good idea.

With the idle screw backed out all the way plus a turn or two to make sure the throttle plate is completely closed go to Diagnostic screen and click "TPS reset" this will put it at zero, then go to either the Runtime or Overview screen and turn the idle screw in until it displays 4.9 degrees and 5.6 percent, start it up and go for a ride long enough to get it good and warm then adjust the idle to 1,050-1,100.
