My oil filter supply fitting came loose? Was dripping and making a mess. I removed the oil line compression fitting, put new teflon tape on the threads and re tightened the fitting into the oil pump. My question is it did not seem to tighten down. It is not leaking but the pipe thread end screwed in to the oil pump all the way in. Is this normal? Usually pipe threads will tighten up around 1/2 way in. I am worried the pump housing might be cracked. Look at yours and let me know how far it is screwed into the housing please.
