Was told NOT to go with a grade 8 stud. If that grade 8 ever broke off (and they can), I'd have a hell of a time drilling it out. I'm sure I did not install the exhaust to the proper torque specs. If I had, It would not have broke off. I often check the nuts to make sure they didnt back off the stud. Thats what broke mine, I'm sure. Loose nuts are BAD! Many here say the stock stud is fine. Others will say otherwise. Thats my 2 cents.   Slaughter Posted on Monday, January 23, 2012 - 08:59 am:        You can get a set of ARP roll-forged studs. Part number 200-2401 (set of 4) I use them on the race bikes and have never had issues. They have dang near 50% more strength than grade 8. That being said, using PROPER torque, and PROPER torque sequence will definitely go a long way to keeping things from breaking. A nut that comes loose will almost always break the OTHER stud in a short while. Check nuts every once in a while (good advice for ANY male!!!) :-) You can get them from better local speed shops (NOT PepBoys or Wallyworld!) - also usual online sources: Jegs, Summit and Amazon. About $16 a set.
