Hey gang,

Since getting my S3 project on the road...it's been a lot of fun!

Anyway, last night on the way home, I noticed my trip meter click past 99 and then it seemed to get stuck, the 100 looked like the 1 went over and stuck between 1 and 2...like it over shot. Odo is working and speedo work. Not really a big deal, but trying to gauge fuel MPG and trip is going to be a pain.

Anyone use a bicycle trip computer? Don't want to break the bank, but need a solution.

Thanks

Just so the ODO doesn't start rolling backwards, and so long as you haven't named it Christine! : )

Have you considered adding a GPS to the bike? You could pick up a used Garmin GPS III with all kinds of trip functions (average speed, max speed, current speed, odometer, altitude, moving map, backlighting, etc) for $75-100 with motorcycle mounts. I see them all the time on Ebay and ADVrider. I've even seen nice GPS Vs in that price range (same size case).

Both will hardwire to the bike so you don't have to bother with batteries. They're black & white but, cheap, durable and plentiful.

Of course, I'd probably just look for a take-off on Ebay. Should be plenty of those after the morons make them into choppers.

Have you tried resetting it?

No, ODO does not turn backwards and negative on Christine.

Yes, reset works...I'm putting more miles on it and will see what it does at 100 miles again.

Will think about a GPS, but I'm going to try a Sigma 1609 first.

Thanks y'all

Mine catches sometimes. Sometimes not.

I've used a Sigma for the last two years. Only real challenge is at night finding the light button first try without advancing the display. But after a few times it becomes second nature. I also run a GPS and the mileage is very close. Interestingly the speedometer of the Bike is very close and these usually are not very accurate.
