I have an 02 X1W and have been reading about the Brembo rear hidden brake modification and would like to do it.However, American Sport Bike no longer sell's the bracket.

Is it possible to just replace the stock brake caliper with a Brembo caliper in the same position?

to my knowledge, no one ever made a brembo hidden caliper for a tuber... only 03+ XBs...

I made my own for my tuber though.

Interesting, I did send an e-mail to American Sport Bike and they replied that the brackets had not been made for some time. Maybe they misunderstood I have an 02X1?

There is this solution but quite pricey!

All the 99-02 tubers have the same swing arm, and the same brakes.

The part for the XB's would be something else entirely.

Is the Free Spirits Brembo kit the same as the url I have posted above or something different?

Also, has anyone just installed a Brembo Caliper in place of the existing stock caliper?

I have Littlebuggles post regarding using a Brembo Master Cylinder (thanks!) so I know that can be done, if I can just replace the stock caliper with a Brembo and no need for a new mount that would work for me as well!!

Thanks!

Yes Mate,
The Free Spirits kit is made in Italy and marketed in the UK by Trojan Horse, http://www.freespirits.it/index.php?lang=2

It's a beautiful kit but $3k+ for front and rear is a bit steep considering that's about what I would get for the bike! To me the bike is worth more but what others would pay is something different
