I bought an XB pulley (Rizoma) to match my front pulley cover (same design) on my S1.
I had to go with the one for XB cause Rizoma discontinued the pulleys for tube frame Buells long time ago.
my idea was to put that 65 tooth pulley and change the front pulley with a 29 tooth.
a friend of mine made one of these modifications a while ago, he had an XB rear wheel and pulley on a beautiful M2.
he told me he had to buy a 130 tooth belt otherwise the rear wheel was too close to the front of the swingarm.
now somebody is claiming that this modification is impossible to make, since the shape of the teeth of the XB pulley is different than the one from S1 and I would have a lot of problems. the guy who already made this modification is claiming that once I will adjust the front pulley and belt sizes, all will be good.
since a few of you have fit the XB wheels on the tubers, I'm asking as far as your experience, do you think it'll be possible to fit the XB pulley on my S1? beside the 6 holes on the XB pulley compared to the 5 holes on the S1 wheel, but I already have a fix for that.
please give me your opinion...

Well seeing as the front pulley on a 2005 Xb still has a -95 number meaning its a xl part or a tube frame buell , the pitch is the same so you will have no issue other that getting the right length belt

Dinuns1 is right on the retro fit part number !!!

BUELLers this is why you not only should has a FSM, "BUT" also a "PARTS BOOK" for your YEAR/MODEL buell so you can check for retro fit parts from different models(that means BIG TWINS and SPORTSTERS) ...

For a little insight into gearing my 1997 S3T came OEM from the factory with a 29T counter shaft and a 61T rear wheel ...

The 1998 Models came with a 27T counter shaft and a 61T rear wheel for a CHEAP "TORQUE" increase on the low end loose'ing a little on the top end ...

To get the same gearing result of dropping ONE tooth on the counter shaft you would have to increase the rear sprocket THREE teeth ...

The AUS,ENG,EUR OEM gearing is 29T counter shaft and a 55T rear wheel, "BUT" "i" do not know what the DRIVE BELT teeth number ...

Maybe some one could tell me the AUS,ENG,EURO number of belt teeth on the AUS, ENG, EURO belt and the DRIVE BELT PART NUMBER ...

So, that begs a question, I have a 2000 M2 with a 27T front sprocket. Is it also a 61T rear and can I swap out a 27T front sprocket to pick up a little legs on the top end?

Yes, but there's no free lunch. Lose a bit on the takeoff, I mean. I had some gearing, rpm and speed charts all worked out, but they're on my other PC. I think I posted them here somewhere before though.

With the euro gearing you could use the same belt, i changed from euro spec. to the 29T counter shaft and 61 Teeth with out changing the belt

128 teeth on the euro gearing belts (55tooth rear, 29 tooth front).
Most tuber owners in the UK ditch the euro gearing and replace with the 61 27 gearing.
The euro gearing is no good for around town as you are constantly slipping the clutch in traffic.

"THANKS" Lander-x1 !!!

If you Ride in a area that has tight turns and short straight ways, IMHO you should gear(TORQUE)for them ...

I don't commute and rarely ride in traffic with the M2, so stop and go manners aren't really a concern.

I feel better now to know that I didn't waste $400 for that pulley! :-)

The rear wheel does sit really close to the front of the swingarm with the 128 tooth belt, but if you aren't running a higher it's not an issue. Also the only XB rear pulleys that won't work are the stock an aftermarket ones specifically made for the '03 model, which had a different pitch. The '04-up have the same pitch as the tubers and sportsters.
