Hello chappies, I'm from Blighty, and I'm wanting to reapaint my spare tank, and obviously will require some new stickers for my S1. Now over here, they are ever so slightly not available, anybody know if I can I get them in your little country? There either will or won't be a picyture attached.

Hopefully, someone here can point you in the right direction. Shameless bozo that I am, I might make a personal appeal to Court. Seriously, though, if you are not able to find new ones, take some quality photos of the old ones, some with a ruler in the photo. Get some measurements of where the stickers go, then go to a local sign shop. They should be able to fab something up for you, as a last resort. |

Getting the lettering painted on by your painter is another option. |

I think you can order them from dealers. |

When I tried to buy 14742-98Y, which became M0740.G, I was told they were no longer available and a stock search in the US and the UK yielded nothing. These were the type that were lacquered over... Other white tanks I have seen have the raised, or thicker sticker, like the later M2s and the XBs, part number 13973-99Y, which became M0779.K. I am guessing these were introduced to stop the adhesive reacting with the gas fumes and causing the paint to bubble. As you are in the UK, you could try http://www.bike-stickers.com Alternatively, you could get them made up at any sign writer place... |

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately the parts are obsolete at Hot Dog, the ones at Twin Motorcycles are the wrong colour, and the feller on ebay doesn't have any more. Also thank you to the people who emailed me with advice. It looks like my only option is with bike-stickers.com who do them, although they are a bit bigger and more pronounced. I'm going to hold on to the last minute before I order them just in case some turn up and smack me in the face, along with the fly screen and tailpiece sets. |

Something doesn't sound right . . . it shouldn't be much of a problem to get them from dealers. Perhaps they did all disappear. . . . if so, that was quick. |

I wondered if they have all been tossed into the dumpster? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/602802.html?1289554810 |

They are very easy to make yourself, just go to the local sign-writer. Decals are made of stick back plastic, with a cnc knife he will cut out the desired font in the colour(s) of your choice. I made mine, stripes, logos and name. I think they are better than the originals!!

That's a beautiful S1W and the blue stripes look perfect. Well done. |

Local sign shop did mine as well. I will eventually have the stripes painted, but these have held up very well for the last four years.

I sprayed everything with clear hard acrylic lacquer to hold it all together. |

I checked with my dealer, and the original tank decals are long disco'd. The replacement plastic ones are still available. |
