Thought'd I'd post this up... This was a side build I did, with the main intention on building as fast as I could, with as little money possible, and sell. it is a 1985 suzuki gs 550 L. If you notice in the first two pictures it was originally just a crap jap cruiser bike. | ||

How likely is it that you could buy a semi beat-up bike, fix it up a little, and sell it to break even? I was thinking about doing that, just for the practice and to try out other motorcycles. (My X1 is my one and only, so far) | ||

I should try it... I see a couple in my local craigslist that wouldn't take much more than touch ups and creativity to be fun bikes. Gonna sleep on it. BTW Looks like a fair price for what you built, assuming it runs as nice as it looks. | ||

Yea it really is a fun thing to do. Just try to tear down the bike to the bare essentials, see what components can be cut out or changed without drastically changing the stress bearing sections of the frame... The most important thing is pick what direction you want to take the bike in. Either cafe, bobber, whatever etc. Then stick with it. A lot of people tend to sway back and forth with ideas and it comes out sloppy. | ||
