So I was riding the other day and my seat popped loose. I bent the tabs back in so that it would grab but it started doing it again yesterday. is this a normal problem and can it be fixed with out replacing the seat or is there a cheaper but better way to fix it like an s2 seat or someting that would work? | ||

Velcro. Figure out where your seat touches your tail section, and all along that area...cover it with velcro. I'd put the hook side on the tail section, and the loop (soft) side on the seat so if the seat moves around, it won't scratch the paint too bad. | ||

well I was thinking of a more permanent route? what other seats and tail sections would look good. | ||

Um...can't you just replace the sheetmetal "nut" in the seat? Or is it molded in? I have a couple seats that have 'em molded in, and a couple where they're held in with screws, is why I ask... If it's molded in...remove carefully and JB-Weld in a regular ol' nut, or a wingnut. Change the goofy-thread "bolt" for a standard-thread one that matches the wingnut or regular nut you just put in the seat, and presto. Done. I've also read about some folks JB-weld-ing a *bolt* into the seat, so it would stick down through the body/frame, and put a wingnut on it from underneath. But velcro works just fine. Trust me - the key lock on an S2 is...well, it looks nice and that's about it. But my bodyweight, and the velcro, are what *really* keep my seat in place. |
