I've been waiting over 3 weeks for a front brake light switch for my '98 S3T part #Y0810.9; and now my speedo cable part #Y0505.J failed over last weekend. Are there any cross reference part#'s to another brand that anyone has documented that can help?!? Concerned about an iminent inspection... 54K mi and going strong.... Thanks! Mark |

Have you stripped and cleaned it?. Mine stopped working a couple of weeks ago,I stripped it down and found the contacts were very dirty/oxidised,cleaned it up and working fine now. |

yes they are,not sure if they are supposed to be...but be careful prying off the cover as it can break if old and brittle.oh and don't let the little spring go flying out on to the floor, its a bitch to find. Its the same for the clutch switch aswell. 10mins of stripping and cleaning its good as new. (Message edited by nallac on June 19, 2010) |

all you had to do was disassemble switch and clean it. make sure you have a tight fit at connection and it should work. |
