Looks like my S1W has a stud broke on the front cylinder. Is the jim's tool worth the money or should I buy one of the E-bay tools for $60? Anyone have a tool they want to sell?
IS it ok to ride or do I have to leave it sit til it's fixed?

was there any locktight on it? If there was it is going to be harder to get it out!

My friend is a professional machinist and runs a bike race and repair shop. The last time i had him get my broken stud out. It took him 2 hrs!

there is a problem somewhere in the exhaust system that is causing the stud to snap, You need to find it and fix it before you break more studs later on.



I have had to fix my studs more than once! (Notice the stud(s) are not rusted, They were new)

Some people never have this problem. I had this problem to many times.

The last time I fixed one, I put anti-seize on it, not loctite.: )

do not know if it has loctite on it but don't think so(one rear stud came out when i changed header). I just switched back to the Force cause it sounds better than the V&H and noticed the stud snapped off about 1/8" in the head. I'm pretty sure it snapped cause I tightened it too much(I like to tighten shit too much). Anyone use the stud drill tool off E-bay that is $60? Do they work or just buck-up for the Jim's tool?

WoooHooo got it out without spending $100 on the Jim's tool. Now to get the new stud and gaskets from American Sport Bike.
