Here is a little sneak peak of what i have been working on for what seems like forever. I have been collecting parts for my XB wheel swap on my X1 and after seeing the dark horse XB rear hidden brembo, i wanted one! So this is what i came up with.

Here is the caliper installed!! See it?

oh wait... there it is, see it now peaking out. Twin Piston Brembo. Caliper will be replaced with a brand new black one shortly.

Modified Ducati rear bracket soon to be powdercoated black. Also shown is one of my aluminum wheel spacers for the XB bearings

and here is the swingarm going on the bike. I milled a slot through it. Once the swingarm is powdercoated black it will be hard to see... but this will allow me to unbolt the twin piston brembo caliper and remove it without ever having to loosen the wheel.

Another project i have also been working on after seeing the dark horse 6 spoke rear pulley. I modeled this up for my X1 with XB wheels. Its a factory X1 61 tooth pulley with an XB bolt pattern. When installed the pulley spokes align with the wheel spokes and blends in. I have sent my cad program to a friend who has a cnc shop and will be machining it for me. Cant wait! Since i have access to a rapid prototyping machine i made the pulley out of plastic for a test fit first.

they were just asking the questions...perhaps he wants to make some and become a sponsor? No lines have been crossed yet. Sheesh.

as the parts supply dries up, we're going to need people like this that can make parts for us. And BadWeb is going to need new sponsors once the former Buell dealers quit sponsering.

besides all that, the rules don't restrict users from requesting, they restrict the promotion and marketing:

"Absent permission from a board custodian, I will refrain entirely from the promotion and/or marketing of commercial merchandise or other similar/competing web sites."

Not all that clear from the pictures, but make sure you fabricate the mounts such that so that the banjo fitting is at the bottom and the bleeder is on top (and hopefully across from each other). Look at how the front caliper is designed in case there is a questions. If not mounted this way, you may have to bleed the brakes while off the bike...

Yea, I know, gravity sucks... ; )

this caliper has the banjo and bleeder side by side. I bleed with a vacuum pump which seems to work great. Thanks for the info though.

"just flip the bike over... no biggie."

That's how I drain my gas tank at the end of each season. Takes about four people...

I wish I'd have thought about that...I just drill holes in the bottom then fill them with bubble gum. That makes for easy draining the next fall. =)

Why do you want to hide the Brembo goodness? If I had a Brembo rear brake I would be showing it off like a nice set of legs.: )

because that was the whole point in swapping to a smaller caliper, so be able to hide it like all the XB guys are doing.

Ill be showing off the ZTL front caliper (its apart now for powdercoating... and if i come across a ZTL2 for a decent price ill be upgrading to that!
