Kevin,

Are you referring to the rubber bumpers on the frame, or an internal part for the fork itself?

I'm pretty sure that you can still buy them from the dealership. I don't have my parts book here at work, but if no one else chimes in I can get you the part number tomorrow. Otherwise a Buell dealer can look them up.

They will restrict your slow speed turning radius significantly.

Can they be "shaved" to still prevent tank contact, but add to steering radius?
Maybe a disk sander or something?
Anybody try this?

I'd like to see a picture of these if anybody has the time to post one. I don't have these and today I took my bike in for inspection and the guy kept hitting my starter button on the tank while it was running. He did this about three or four times AFTER I asked him to stop hitting my starter button! I was ready to hit him. It's embarrassing to hit the horn or the starter when I'm wedging my bike into a space near people but I'm getting better about not doing this. I've thought about using rubber-cement and a piece of 1/4" rubber.

why dont you just adjust the controls where they dont hit the tank? Seems like the simplist solution, and you keep your better turning radius

Ive never had issues with the forks hitting the tank either, and im running the larger showa inverted forks.

The controls are fixed if you've got stock bars due to the mounting pins in the switch gear and corresponding holes in the bars.

So with your ignition off turn your bars to full lock right, where the starter is bumping, loosen your bar clamp and rotate the bars up.

(I foolishly took a file to my starter button a while back to fix this, then realized all I had to so was rotate the bars which actually made them a bit more comfortable for me).

Thanks for the suggestions. I suppose I could try to rotate the bar up a little. I'm only 5'9" and the bars feel perfect where they are right now. All of the buttons feel perfect as well. It's not really much of a problem.

buy the bumpers like you originally wanted to. there is nothing wrong with the stock installation placement. thousands of bikes use them with no concerns. the loss of turning radius is noticeable, but perfectly acceptable.

be sure to clean the glue area very well. then give overnight curing time undisturbed after the installation...
