i'd really like to go up a size at least to the s1w header, but the cracks are getting so bad im going to need something asap or i'll be out of service until i get one. is there anywhere i can buy new without killing my wallet? | ||

Ebay. Or, any of the early Thunderstorm tuber headers (they have to have the same S-bend shape, not the later T-bend shape) can be used. If it's EFI, just plug the O2 sensor hole with either a sensor, or a blockoff plug. The only difference between the Thunderstorm headers and the Race headers is, the Race headers had longer primaries and the collector pointed back; the T-storm headers were also 2.5" but had the collector in the stock side-pointing location. | ||

None of the pre-'99 tubers had EFI, so the O2 bung isn't an issue. eBay is the primary source, I'm afraid, of any ofthe headers you seek. Right now there's not a lot on there, but keep an eye out and you're bound to find something. An early Force exhaust like mine can usually been found on eBay for $400-500 new, and a lot less if you find one used here. Force is the only company I know of that will still make a new header for your bike but it is $750 or so from them direct. | ||

Ricky, I saw a brand new S1 header not too long ago and had it my hands briefly (almost bought it 'cause they're so dang pretty), PM sent regarding it's location. Heads up too, if you have yahoo it will probably go to your spam folder, all the PM's I've gotten from this board lately have gone there and others using yahoo have said the PM's I sent went there as well.
