Alright the acc fuse blew on me this mornin. I replaced it before going home and it blew again after a few minutes. when I got home I replaced it again a min or two later Bang, tryed a new one bang. looked around for a few mins. tryed another n bang. Started troubleshootin and found nothing. Tryed a fuse instant bang looked some more a few mins. later tryed a fuse it lasted a few mins n bang. That stupid o/w wire goes everywher and it has a short to grnd, but I cant fing it.

There is a schematic diagram that shows a S6 intersection I'm afraid its just that a intersection and not a connection but if anyone knows differently please inform me.

I guess when the tool trucks get to the shop tomorrow I will be getting a Fuse Buddy. If ya haven't seen them they are awesome. They just reset like a breaker.

I thankyou in advance for any help
Jon,

Check your ignition switch for a short. These go bad frequently - I've lost 2 in 7 years.

Easy way to check is look at the back side of the switch and see if there's any discoloration of the sealant. If there is, it means there's an internal short.

Al from American Sport Bike carries them as do other suppliers. But DO NOT get another OEM.

Well the chaos is over I finally figured it out. Well for some unknown reason the o/w wire going to the position bulb was giving the whole light bezel a 12v charge. The positive terminal going to the bulb base looks as if it is supposed to have the 12vs and for some reason the chrome bezel also has the 12vs and the chrome ring through time rubbed the paint off the mounting tab on the top of the bezel. Giving the headlight bucket a 12v charge but the PC insulated it. Also through time the HL bucket was making contact with a bracket on the fork pivot on the chassis which rubbed the PC off that and in turn caused a short to ground on the o/w wire.

I will be inspecting the HL bucket this week to find where the problem between positive terminal and the HL bezel are. There is a translucent brown substance that is running down the back of the bezel. Maybe through time that has melted and created a bond but I will see.

Yeah that little miracle took a little bit of time to find. I appreciate all the help through here and PM's.

Thanks Guys
Jon

BUELLers:

If you do not want to have these "MYSTERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS", take the time to TIE WRAP your wiring so that it is not doing the WIGGLE TEST on your wiring while riding ...

Have a 108,822.1 miles(12 years ago) on my 1997 S3T as of the last ride and have never had any of these MYSTERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS because "i" tie wrapped my wiring right after "i" got my S3T ...

turst me if there is anything I do good its tie wrap. I'm what you might call a zip-tie junky. There is no such thing as to many zip-ties. Just for that reason alone, it also looks so much neater. But I appreciate the advice just the same.

What ever the problem is is enternal on the HL bezel. Some kind of failure thats not related to wiring but some hard parts failure. I will be troubleshooting this week.

Thank you all for the help, much appreciated.
Jon
