My '02 S3T has around 40,000mi on it & checking it out before a 3 day Smokey Mountain ride, I found that both bags had a crack in them. Both had never been loaded much (but on the bike at all times)and both had the same crack. The pix is of the bag with the short crack and the longer crack went all the way over to the hole for the toggle clamp. I saw the crack from the outside & it was in the back upper corner, just above the turn signal. A little J B Weld and fiberglass cloth fixed it easily. Those of us with bags should check their cracks. Later,,, De

J-B nor Epoxy resins will adhere to the ABS long term.

My bags were "fixed" at a boat repair shop by the previous owner, I fixed the repair by mechanical means.

Mine were fixed at a marine fiberglass repair shop. They're bullet proof now.

Mine are "Bullet proof" literally hahaha, the repair shop that did mine must have laid the bags on their backs poured a quart of resin in then a layer of cloth then dumped another quart, to bad it didn't fix the crack and the bags are heavy, they feel loaded when empty.

I repaired mine a couple of years ago in the campground at Sturgis and it's holding. Pretty simple fix -- at your local Ace Hardware, get a can of ABS cement in the plumbing department and a package of fiberglass cloth. You might get change from a $5 bill.

Cut the fiberglass cloth to overlap the cracks. Start on the inside of the bag. Paint a heavy layer of ABS cement over the crack and along its sides. Lay the cut piece of fiberglass cloth over the area and work it into the cement. Paint another layer of ABS cement over the fiberglass. Repeat on the outside of the bag. Let it dry.

It might be easier to do if you remove mounting hardware from the bag.
