It seems that after I ride my 96 S1 for about 30-40 mins I get this loud chatter or click from the rockers. I know this may be a stupid question, does that mean I need to get my values adjusted or is the symptom of any other problems? These are alloy engines and tend to be noisy, "BUT" to be on the safe compare it with another SPORTSTER Engine ... Also is you get it too hot in traffic it will get noisy as well as getting low on oil ...   Snake Posted on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 - 09:23 pm:        Here is what happened to my 96 S1 with chatter and clicking from rear cylinder....I found out that my valve seat ( can't remember if it was the intake or exhaust) but when the metal heated up it expanded enough for the seat to come loose and get hammered between the valve and the head casting where the valve seat is pressed into. That is what happened to mine anyways. I found it by pulling off my rear head.....which lead to a Nallin 88" Kit!   Snake Posted on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 - 09:25 pm:        Oh, 30 -40 min. is about how long it took for mine to make the noise. No noise when it was cold. Like it is just not getting enough oil during low RPMs, but it still runs like SOB so there are no performance issues that i am aware of. Or could it be a sign of the oil pump going out??
