Pulled off the primary cover expecting to find a tensioner broke in half or something. But when i pulled off the cover the engine sprocket nut fell out. I guess the P/O didn't get it tight enough.

What symptoms led you to check?

was riding down the road and heard a slight knocking sound. And if i tapped on the cover with a rubber mallet i could hear something rattling around inside. Just glad i caught it before something bad happened

glad you caught it. have fun tightening that sproket nut. I had to clean the threaded shaft and nut very well with brake cleaner and use a few drops of RED loctite... and torque my ASS off!!!

200 ft/lbs IIRC? Yeah.. enjoy. My back hurt for two weeks after tightening that nut.

I don't weigh enough to get enough torque on the wrench by just standing on it, so I had to lift on the wrench while a friend sat on top of the frame.

Good times.. I can't wait to do it all over again to the S3

longer torque wrench helps if you are weight challenged. the last one i did at 250 ft lbs on the front sprocket, 80 on the clutch hub a couple of months ago iirc.

Guell, i would tell you where that clamp is from but i have no idea. My kooks was already installed when i got the bike. Custom stainless steel muffler too. Doesn't do much to quiet the sound though, I can see straight through the muffler end to end.

I have the same system, Thats a kooks muffler too, i think. My muffler is a little bit different, but same design.

I just rigged up the muffler and will be stress testing the clamp i have now.

Yea its loud, but it sounds awesome.

yeah the previous owner called up a custom muffler place and gave them all the measurements of the stock muffler and had them make one up out of stainless steel. I was going to get a D&D and cut it down small enough to fit then weld it back together. Maybe i will do that this winter when i have nothing better to do

Got my problem fixed, went for a 200 mile ride this weekend and found this cool barn.
