Hello all I know very little about harleys, know that XL/)Sportster stuff will fit, but what are Big Twins? Different from Evo and Twin Cam 88's , I believe, but would a Forcewinder described as fitting a "Harley Big Twin, 93-99," fit my X1? I know that HD have a plethora of models, but a lot of them have basic parts commonality, and are just styling exercises. |

Any intake that will fit a 40mm CV carb will fit on the X1. You will need to adapt it for the IAT sensor or relocate it somewhere. I am using a S&S intake from a sportster. |

"Big-twin" is the nomenclature for a non-Sportster, non-V-rod engine. It's a blanket term for Evo 1340, TwinCam88, TC88B, TC96 or TC96B. |

Thanks, guys-so I take it that the big twins have a larger intake than 40mm, and are unsuitable. There's one on eBay australia. |

CV carbs on the big twins are the same as on the non-FI Sportsters/Buells. HD does make a larger CV series in their Screaming Eagle models. I run an S&S Super E on my Sportster just because I like the response of the butterfly type carbs. The CV I ran before was modified and is a better choice if you are riding in extremely varying elevations. I actually like my CV after I got it dialed in, but went the hot rod route when I did the 1250 kit. Safe ride, Gary, DPG |

Air cleaner should work. Intake manifold, I believe, is different. |

Hey, Ken. Missed you, rang last night, came through today on the FJR to pick up an 1 7/8' socket for the pulley, among other things. Got a CF hamcan from an Aussie Bueller on the way, CF tank trims are here. Did you know that Craiges in Gero (behind Bridgestone Tyres)stock the Deutsch plug stuff? I had to get another pin, that plug you gave me only had two fitted internally. Yeah, realised I had forgotten the CD, I'll see you when I'm out next time. Cheers |
