anyone have heat problems with leaving the IAT installed in the back of the Forcewinder? If so im just goin to go with the perviously seggested relocation i was given. thanks

I am going with the iat installed into the rear of filter. I had heat problems with the iat in the elbow part. After the bike is at temp and is turned off it heats up and the bike has a hard time starting up!

I am fast becoming an ex fan of the forcedwinder!
We will see how this next try is. Otherwise it's the ham can next

I'm having problems with mine overheating. It's just a trouble light, but it's installed properly in the back of the filter.

I had problems with this too, but after getting the headers ceramic coated inside and out I haven't had any issues with it.

I never got a trouble light like lowroad stated, but before with the non-coated header I always had to pull the sensor out to restart the bike if it had been sitting for a few minutes and had warmed the sensor up.

From what I've read online, this isn't a very common problem to have with forcewinders so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm wondering if it's worse on X1's with the left side scoop still installed. I would think that the scoop throws air across the rear head towards the area of the IAT sensor and that may cause some extra heat.

If you do have problems with the sensor getting hot then relocating shouldn't be too difficult, but I'd suggest getting the header ceramic coated instead. There's a HUGE difference in header temps with the coating - a lot bigger difference even than fiberglass wrap makes.
